VIETNAM GROCERY SHOPPING | PRICES INCLUDED

Vietnam grocery shopping with prices. Follow me as i take you around a supermarket in Vietnam and show you the prices locals pay for food. It can be cheaper if you go to a local food stall, however in this vlog i show you what its like to shop at the supermarkets here.

***I do not mention anything about what its like to shop as a vegan/vegetarian/gluten free, i’m sure there is plenty of other information out there on these topics.***

About me:
Hi my name is Lana,

I come from the north of New Zealand.
I made the decision to quit my job as a nurse and go travelling. I enjoy slow travel and spending more time in each city to get a feel for the culture and how the locals truly live. Travelling can be hard when you don’t have the information you need, especially as a tourist, the prices of things are usually heightened. My vlogs will show you how you too can travel cheaply, less touristy and how to travel full time.

My aim is to show you the realness of travelling, and to give you the information that you need as a traveller.
So I hope you can follow me on my journey to see this lovely world of ours!

  • This is an expensive grocery to buy food. You can go to the morning markets all over VN and buy daily fresh food at a fraction of the price in comparison to these chain groceries

  • I am suprised that prices in some European countries are cheaper than in Vietnam and all those countries have much higher average salary than Vietnam. In my country for example every product is cheaper than in Vietnam and average salary is 2-3 times higher in my country…and when you consider that you have to pay two times more for rent in Ho Chi Minh city then in our capital city Belgrade i am asking myself how is it possible to survive for regular person in Vietnam.

  • 5:18 I'm not sure that was an avocado, that looks more like a Vietnamese orange called "cam sanh".

  • Wow… you bought the whole freezer full of fruits and it cost only $50. That is dirt cheap. Now I know the reason that tourists like us say the foods in Vietnam are so cheap compared to where they are living.

  • Fresh food … opens up the fridge to a super size Kit Kat bar lol. You should do a comparison to the market vegetable prices, pretty sure it'll be way cheaper … depending on your bartering skills 🙂
